I am only looking for comments on the black and white conversion here. Not interested in opinions on focus or composition. I kind of like the high contrast, old photo look (like it was shot by dad's five dollar kodak), but I am curious if others would rather see the shadows opened up more. Too dark?
Maybe just a bit more lightness to the piano, to see that structure just a bit and the desks on the right. Hmm..I'd have to see it both ways though..lol. You should see how many versions of one photo I get before I decide.
The little one looks thouroughly amused at standing up on the desk! :)
The shadows do look like they can use more "opening up" imo.
Thanks folks! Now it's just a matter of deciding whether I do localized adjustments or global. I'll play with it a bit and see what I come up with.

The blacks are better here but some of the whites in the clothing have now gone greyer.
