Twilight

I'm not completely satisfied with the sky in this photo. What do you think?

Well, I don't know a whole lot about photography, but it seems there isn't much contrast between the branches and the sky, perhaps if you had taken the picture a little earlier in the day? Since you asked,what did you think might be wrong with it?

I like this. Not sure that I have any real problems with it. The moon looks perfectly exposed and crisp. A keeper in my book. Personal taste though may vary. Just one mans opinion.

I like it too. I was actually thinking of this exact shot over the last couple of days with the full moon, but there aren't any suitable trees close, and I'm too lazy to go looking.:headslap:

Good work. Taking a good picture of the moon is harder than one might think.

I like the idea and the composition, but I agree with the kurt; the exposure needs a little work. I'd like to see the background about 1/2 stop brighter and the moon 2/3 - 1 stop brighter.

If I make the sky any brighter it goes really speckly which is why it's how dark it is. I was disappointed by the fact at how dark the sky is, I wanted to make the sky alot lighter. It was alot of work putting that moon in behind those branches. I had to take two seperate photo's and put them together.

Did you try using noise reduction? I find when trying to brighten high ISO shots NR helps fix the speckles. It usually comes at the expense of sharpness, but since the moon is in a different image loss of sharpness in the sky should not be an issue if you only do it on that layer.

Looks like adding moons to images runs in the family:D It obviously worked, no-one picked it.:highfive:

Nice work, I didnt even know at first glance it was photoshopped. I would try maybe increasing the blacks a few points to darken the branches and maybe playing with the luminance of the blues in the sky to make the sky a touch lighter.

Nice work on the PS. I did not think it was two images !!!! Others made some good recommendation on other ways to improve via PS>
