Ok automaton2,
Another series eh?
here goes - Shot 1, I like quite a lot. I like the tight crop. The eyes are quite sharp (could still be a bit sharper though) and the veins in the nose and straggely beard suggest a hard life. The beard seems to be filtered somewhat and it is distracting to me, the photograph doesn't need it. I would have wished that he was looking directly into the lens on this shot - but aside from that i like this shot.
Shot 2 is quite a nice portrait, I like the smile and the look - but the image needs a contrast boost - it's very flat.
Shot 3 is another good portrait and the best of the bunch - very intense and i like the harsh lighting and harsh shadow for this model. The yellow spot at bottom left is a bit distracting as are the filtered eyes and lips and more suble part of the photo. Again the photograph does not need it IMO.
I would love to see all 3 of these done without any filtration. Just concentrate on contrast.
Hope that helps,
Marko
