Great job on capturing a beautiful and colourful photo of such an dirty bird! Well done! A lot of sky, would a more square crop improve it any?

Well captured! But, since this is the critique thread: I think just a little more work with levels and curves to bring out some of the feather detail, especially on his left wing and under his throat.

my preference is for the first one. The second looks too sharp to me.

You can definitely see more of the birds feathers in the second shot but along with that... a lot of noise. It's neat to see the feat stand out soo much compare to the bench..is that from the dof or pp?

Ok. I am too tired... I shouldn't be editing photos. That is totally PP. I thought the problem with the first shot was that I sharpened the whole thing which sharpened the bokeh and made it distracting. This time I took the time to isolate the pigeon but I should have included the bench... d'oh!
