Most of these are extremely well done! A few have sharpness issues especially in the eyes which is a pet peeve, but the majority are excellent!
Why are these images well done?
- The images suggest or tell a story or reveal something about the subject.
- Very few distracting elements in the images
- For the most part good exposures and decent composition.
here are just a few of the many images that i find excellent

Thanks as always to AcadieLibre for sharing links that help us learn!
I think you did pick out some of the better ones, I liked most but I also found some not to my liking or just a few issues with some but just in a nitpicking way lol.
Thoes are really interesting and very well done.
This one stood out for me:

The composition is awesome, the focus, the man's expression, and his eyes stand out more than anything, I can almost see pain in them, like he feels helpless.
A lot of those photos were awesome; showed me some things that I can do with my photos too, that I hadn't thought of before. Usually I turn the hue way up, but by pulling hue and saturation down a notch, it gives the photos a different feel.
How is it possible to show all these details on their faces? So much details .Could some elaborate on techniques
I'm not entirely sure what was done to the shot but quite a lot of post processing was done here. I'd guess that extra noise was added and some major sharpening was used..but I could be way off here.
anyone else care to opine?
Some of these shots were from Joey Lawrence. He has some excellent work that can be found here http://joeyl.com/
He used to be very active in the forums at DPChallenge.com http://dpchallenge.com/profile.php?USER_ID=25397 and he described his post production techniques a time or two. Alot if it is lighting, similar to Dave Hill, then after dodging and burning applying Local Contrast Enhancement. He now sells a DVD tutorial for about $300. http://tutorial.joeyl.com/
