Hello and Bonjour!
My name is Kylie.
I like to take photographs,
and write in Haiku.
:D
Anyway, I'm in Calgary... I took some college photography courses, I'm looking to take more but those things are expensive (granted, my camera costs a great deal more haha!). I really want to expand on my creativity, that's my goal in these forums. To get some critique, and to look for inspiration. One thing I found in the courses I took... they went on and on and on about how to work the camera, the relationships between shutter speed and aperture, drilling into my brain the Rule Of Thirds. But nowhere did they discuss the art of photography, or offer much guidance in pushing yourself creatively.
So here I am, with a beautiful piece of equipement, the technical ability, the drive... and no know-how of how to actually use these tools to develop (teehee, pun intended) as an artist.
So.... big long ramble finished.... hopefully I can find some exercises to push me in the right direction :)
P.S.
Where can I post my work?
I'm still learning my way through these forums.

Welcome to the forum Kylie! Hope to see some pix soon.
You can post images to appropriate forums for show, critique etc.
You can also post albums and stuff to your profile by Clicking MY Profile at the top of the page.
Just as an FYI - Images that are posted directly should be less than 275K or the forum will compress them and sharpness will suffer.
Thanks for joining! Marko

Welcome to the forum, Kylie. I hope you find what you are looking for with us.

Close, but not quite. Haiku is about syllables, not the amount of words.
5 syllables
7 syllables
5 syllables
is the pattern.
To edit yours...

is for sharing ideas.
Helping each other.
Anyway... thanks for the welcome!
