Hi.
I've been doing research to decide on my next camera. I find the SX60 great for what it is, but I'm not satisfied with the image quality.
I'm trying to decide between a Nikon D5500, a Canon T6S and a Sony A6000.

Hi.

I'm not sure which Sony he has, but a friend of mine just swapped from Nikon to Sony (I think he said it was $2200). The best thing about the Sony he has, you can use any lens from any company (Canon, Nikon, etc). Plus it is a ton lighter.
BTW, welcome to the forum!!!
I'm still a DSLR fan so I'd nix the sony. The Nikon is cheaper...I'd go with the Nikon UNLESS you already have Canon lenses.
Key question of course, is what do you like to shoot?
Hope that may help and welcome to the forum
Welcome to the forum, HighSierra. A lot of people have this question and there is never a "right" answer. If you have a real camera store locally, go see if you can try them out and put them in your hands. Pick the one that feels right. It is pretty much impossible to buy a crappy camera.
Thanks for the welcome and feedback.
I'm waiting for the T6S to be released so I can read some reviews of actual production models.
My last non Point and shoot camera was a Minolta X700 which I loved and still have.
I'm also considering the 70D.
OK, so I got the 70D body plus a Sigma 18-250 Macro OS HSM about a week ago. Happy so far. Bought from local Camera store.
Good purchase! Now it's time to play with it!
