Lol, when i saw a reply I was gonna congratulate you on such a quick start Jas, because this is a trickier assignment.
But Thanks for the extra link though!
I have an idea for this one :-) hope it comes together tomorrow night :-) --- ETA Jan 5, 2012 -- It came together :-)
I hope this comes across on your monitors as well as it does on mine. Please share if you have weird colors etc... This should be pretty darn white :-)
White paper on a white background. Still playing with this, as it looks totally different on my laptop to my works pc.
fine submissions!
Totally dig your concept on this one Susan. Lovely!
Not easy! I'll think of more as the days come and I search for things available to me. With the above entries..making it hard! Fantastic stuff!
Never understood the white crayon. Barely seen to the eye.

This is a hard subject. I went with the five teeth my oldest has lost so far (my youngest hasn't lost any yet). The tooth shaped box is where we keep them

these are all terrific submissions so far. I'll have to figure out how to tackle this.
very creative everyone - love it!
I recently purchased a flash so I thought I would give this assignment a try. It turned out to be alot harder than I thought.

Yet you ended up with excellent results, Jason. A little more definition in the upper left quadrant where it's hard to see the difference between the ball and the background would have been good but still and very well done shot.
Thanks Iguanasan. I notice that spot now. I used two different light sources and fixed two different colors I was getting using PS elements. I think that may have made that corner a little less defined. I also noticed that the image is only 28kb now but the one I uploaded was 168kb. Does the site always compress the image?
Jason
Normally the image is only compressed if it's > 1024 pixels on one of the sides or if the image is > 275KB. Since this is 1026 pixels wide you were just a tad over. You can re-edit the post and re-upload the image if you want. Just resize down to 1024 and you should be fine.
Had the chance to make this shot come alive today with 10 month old grandbaby A. It is something I have had wanted to do since she learned to sit up. :-) AND it fits into the assignment too. The luxury fiber Little Miss A is in is Cormo. To get and idea of what the fiber feels like, think cashmere and think how soft to the touch --- Baby stays quite warm in this puddle of fiber. :-)
Very cute!

Didn't quite get this shot in time, but here's my submission for the month's assignment. A macro image of hoar frost.
