UK also has one but it is hard to police when so many call come from India. There are also rules on dropped calls. It seems you can have an auto reject on calls with no caller ID although the telephone companies do not like doing it. I know my wife and son both look at phone and if no caller ID will not answer it. They feel if they can't ID them selves they are not worth talking to.
The other day I had to laugh my 17 year old son answers the phone, I hear:
"Hi how's it going"
"wanna hang out"
"lets do something"
Next thing he hangs up and I enquire who was that, response "A telemarketer"
I had a good laugh guess he saw comic who claimed he did this so my son tried it. The telemarketer didn't seem to like it, I guess once my son just kept asking what the person was wearing until they hung up.
