Family hike
This weekend, my family and I headed up to my -in law's house in north east Pa, and whenever we go there, we travel to Salt Springs State Park, for some hiking. There a three waterfalls, and miles of trails.
My wife said that she would like a shot of us as a family on one of these hikes, so, of course I complied! We stopped at my favorite boulder in the creek, just below the first waterfall, and set this shot up, and surprisingly, my title guy was somewhat cooperative!

Wonderful family shot. Always hard to make these self-timer(I presume) look natural, but his looks great.

Very nice! I love seeing family shots! :D

Quite a nice casual family portrait - I dig it! i also like the lines in the boulder.
If I had one and a half comments (and I realize this is hard with self timer) it would be to watch the placement of items behind the head.
In this case there is a tree right behind your head. Of course it's not the end of the world but did want to mention it for the future.
The other half comment would be to watch the open legs, crossing them or having them outstretched and crossed tends to look even better.

A very nice family portrait. I wish I took the time to get from behind the camera more myself.... maybe that's a new thing for me.

Thanks for all the comments, guys! Like I said we try to make it up there several times a year, and it is amazing how different it is each time we go up there! Not just the changes in seasons, but the changes from nature! After hurricane Irene blew through, the place looked TOTALLY DIFFERENT frOm the month before!
Marko, that boulder is amazing! Definitely my favorite feature of the hike! Every time we go up there, I try to think of creative ways to shoot just that rock....and about the legs....that is my least favorite area of the shot....I was still getting myself situated on the rock, and the damned shutter went off! I couldn't find my remote release when we got there, and this one shot is all my son and his energy would allow...LoL!

Beautiful setting for the family portrait. Like the composition (except for the one and a half comments that Marko pointed out). Love that rock, Almost looks like a giant log you are sitting on.

Nice work. You have done well to use the self timer and still look relaxed in the shot.
