Great portrait!!!! So many interesting things in this shot.
Love the "character" you captured in this one. VERY well done RM.
That's quite a guy and an excellent portrait shot.
Thanks guys. I was pleased to get this given the circumstances. He certainly was an interesting character.
I was taking a few shots at a bike run, not really interacting in any way. This guy was with his mates and started to ridicule me for taking photos of bikes other than his own. I went outside my comfort zone and approached him and started to ask him about his bike and obviously got him started on his real passion. He was quite amused and joked with his mates that I didn't know that the headlight was not standard. I went along with it all in a self deprecating manner. Anyway I took a couple of shots of his bike and then asked if he would be in one of the shots to show off his helmet which matched the fox skin covering the tank of his bike. Of course I focused more on him. Turned out to be a quite nice guy.
Glad you were bold enough to get in a conversation with this guy. Great portrait with a lot of character.
I really like this. Just finished saying in another thread that I don't like HDR software much, but I suspect it was used here to great effect. Either way the processing is excellent.
Thanks asnow & MA.
MA, not HDR software, but I did use a few Photoshop tricks to extract some detail, as I thought the subject could handle it.
You thought right! :)
I have to echo everyone else's thoughts. Fab casual portrait on multiple levels. Here's what I like about it.
- Interesting subject
- Processing that adds to the image
- Fab comp that was not easy
I've said this many many times but most (90% +) people in my experience enjoy/allow being photographed when asked.
Awesome that you went outside your comfort zone. You EARNED this image RM. :highfive:
