The first one is my fav here JJJ. I like the colour tones in it the most. Very solemn.
Hey thanks Iggy. I actually like the second, more pastel version myself ! This was a CS5 HDR attempt ! - jimmy Oh, I don't know how those pesky birds got in there again !
That first one gets my vote Jimmy...what a beautiful shot!
The second one with the blue line of water between the lake and the horizon. Very nice set.
For me the first photo works better too - my eye preferes the more saturated colours.
nice image Jimmy, I'd go with the tones of version 1.
I think those birds are 'storking' you...
Very nice images on both Jimmy, but have to agree on first being my fave also.
Well thank you Lisa, Peter, MoinMoin, Richard and Hillbillygirl. I am partial to the second pastel version myself. Yes Richard the birds are "storking" me, haha.
To me the birds anchor the picture and make it work for me. My wife Marianne hates the birds ! ! Any thoughts. Don't worry my feelings won't be hurt if you hate the birds too!
Thanks again for all the comments - jimmy
I like both but lean towards the first- mostly due to the texture of the sand. In all honesty- I think the shot would be stronger without the birds. :)
Hey thanks bambi. Perhaps you and my wife are right ! get rid of the birds ! . . . . perhaps, haha - jimmy
shot 1 (by far actually). Shot 2 feels like there's too much whitespace (due to brightness). For me this detracts from the overall composition.
Hey thanks Marko. I am still partial to No. 2 though ! I guess if we all liked the same things life would be very dull ! How are you liking your D700.
I have studied the manual often and I still cannot find if you can, or how to change the jpeg setting,to say increase sharpness or saturation like I could on the Canon 40D. Do you know of any user adjustments for jpeg ? thanks - jimmy
Sory JJJ. My preference is number one as well.
Hey thanks so much asnow. You win some and you lose some ! Glad you enjoyed No. 1 - jimmy
Bambi, I would just say yes dears !
I spend too much of my time cloning out those pesky birds CS5 randomly places in my images, I'm gonna leave em in like you do from now on!
Seriously though that first shot is great JJJ
Why thanks Michel. A bird in the hand is worth two in Photoshop !
Back on the forum again after a crazy summer...great to see some more of your work! Great stuff!! Where did you take this at on Lake Huron?
No.# 1 with birds for me, jimmy! Cool image!
Hey jchurill, glad to see you back. Thanks for the nice comments. I took this shot at the Highland Glen Conservation Area. That's about 20 or so minutes straight North of Petrolia - jimmy
Hey Formerly Raiven, I knew you would like the birds. I will run down and tell my wife she is wrong about the birds. Haha - jimmy
