Winter Mountain
So we decided to hike the tallest mountain in southern NH, Mt. Monadnock. It checks in at 3100ft and some change. Not too steep, but not a very easy hike either. Luckily it's popular enough that the trail was tramped down by others. Good day for hiking though - 20s and calm. Above the tree line was another story, but we didn't stay long.

The light was pretty crap for photography, so I shot about 10 frames. This was the best. I like the low clouds, but wish the sun could have been out at least a little to bring up the windblown texture of the snow. Oh well. Some days are about the pictures, some days are about the journey.

this shot is quite lovely! I'd love to do this hike with you.

And what a beautiful journey it was, by looking at this pic. Believe me, I can see the windblown texture of the snow quite well. Very nicely done, in some very tough conditions WD.

Cool. I can feel the heaviness of the day.

Thanks guys. Of course the clouds moved off the sun by the time we got back to the car. Ah, life.

This is quite an interesting scene, I like the contrasting light foreground and sky and dark middle, almost the complete opposite of typical landscape.

It is inverted, isn't it? I'm glad it works though. thanks, Richard.

Lovely scene WD, excellent exposure here!

Thanks M. I wish the light had been better, but I'm glad this one came out ok.

very nice landscape, can't add anything else as the others have said it already
