Trip To Mars???
We had to make a delivery, 'bout an hours drive away, so decided to take in a few sights around local area. Who knew such places existed in Ontario?

..and what it looks like as a whole. It is actually called the Cheltenham Badlands and is really as red as the pics show. If you ever get a chance to drive up here it is a must see, along with the waterfalls and ruins, at "The Forks of The Credit". (but thats another story)

This last one was shooting into sun, but gives you a little depth of the area.

what a strange place. Your photos of it are well done.

It certainly doesn't look like Ontario! Cool captures.

what a cool find. I could spend all day there!

Thanks all. Yes it is definitely a place well worth the visit and for sure to bring your camera. There are so many photo ops there, but best to go an a weekday as it is quite crowded during weekends. Also 9 am, or thereabouts, is best for morning shots, or 5pm on is my fave, as it is angled towards the setting sun actually.
Here is a link for those that would like to know how to get there. You will not be disappointed. You can spend a whole day exploring the surrounding area and trails/cliffs/caves in nearby Rockwood and Mono Mills (best bring a flashlight if caving at Rockwood, and change of clothes), plus the old abandoned brickworks just a couple miles away, mill ruins at Forks of The Credit, and Rockwood also. etc. etc. Cheltenham Badlands Hike - Hiking trip - EveryTrail

Very cool set, HBGirl! Well captured! The first one is amazing and very reminiscent of some places in California. Not exactly like it, but it reminds me a bit of the Death Valley Racetrack Playa.

Neat looking spot. I like the texture as well as the color.

Thank you QuietOne, glad you liked.

Very unique terrain indeed! Appears to be very dry judging by the cracks. Cool set.

cool set, and what a great location. I like the one with the contrasting blue sky. Nice work.

Thanks Ma and Richard, appreciate the compliments.
Yes it is very dry on top, but walking in between the mounds, very wet. Still have red clay in my boots. Thats another warning. If you do go here, bring extra clothes as you will get covered in red clay if you are kneeling/laying down for shots. Definitely going back when it gets a little nicer weather, (calling for another half a foot of snow tonight:yuck:)
