California pics, part 1
Am slowly going through photos from the trip to the Eastern Sierras in California. They're all in a set on flickr if you want to see more, but here are some highlights from the Bishop area -
Sunset on some hills at the beginning of Silver Canyon -

No clouds showed up so I was extra glad the earth brought its own colors. Here's the rental making the first of many stream crossings up Silver Canyon road -

And some of the approximately 5,495,309,309 wildflowers throughout the canyon -

The wind rose steadily and it was impossible to do macro or close-ups of any kind, but the sun was gorgeous at one point -

The first ones are Desert Prince's Plume, but I don't know about the second. Some species of poppy possibly.
Anyway, thanks for looking. Processing some sunrise shots from the same location...with alpenglow!!!

I've been following these on flickr. you have done a terrific job with them!
-
I love the first shot - great composition!
-
I really like the first shot too

Thanks guys. I had a hell of a time finding a decent sunset/rise place. not being a local has major disadvantages. here's one from the same sunset that came out better than expected. I have no idea what it is, but it was lit up beautifully against the hill with the trail.

Nice set WD - really dig the colour and contrasts in the last shot and also dig the lines/curves in shot 1.
-
Really nice set WD. Just love that first one. You really get the feel for the vastness of the area.

Very nice, except I want a recount on the wild flowers I think you missed a few :headslap:

Thanks guys. Makes a nice break from woods and ferns, huh? Oh and pardon the rough flower count, those guys are wily.
