Was he coming in for a landing? The landing gear is down. Mike says it's a bit easier to see for that with the canopy open and to get the pilot out if something goes wrong.

Air brakes out, wheels down and canopy open. My guess would be for a slow flypast for the fence line crowd.

That's cool seeing the air brakes out like that!!
