When it's not covered with snow, there are thousands upon thousands of square miles of land like this in northern Canada.

Not high elevation- maybe 400 feet aboe sea level. Quite far north, though. Google Yellowknife.

Thanks. I've sold a number of 24x30 inch prints of it.

Nice range of earth tones. The colours make the photo look awesome.

Nicely done! My first thought was the same as some of the others....interesting!

Beautiful image - love that "shield country". Your image nicely captures the spongy texture of the thick lichen, and the bright orange evergreen needle clumps bring my eyes down to the foreground, but if it were my shot, I might've cropped a wee bit off the bottom of the picture to bring the orange down a little more. That's just me, though. Great shot!
