Thunderhead

We were at the cottage last week and there were some isolated thunderstorms in the area. I noticed this thunderhead moving across the area that was producing a fair bit of lightning however it never got that close, although friends of mine that were camping in Algonquin National Park said it was a tad scary at times, but I sat on the beach at the cottage with the 5D and 50mm 1.4 on the tripod with cable release in one hand and a beer in the other and just enjoyed it.

I find this beautiful mike. Lovely comp and subtle colours.
If this were mine I think I'd try to milk just a bit more detail from the darker blues - i believe that would make this sing even louder.

Very nice light in those clouds complete with the lighting, well worth the effort of setting up the tripod and cable release...
