A study of shells

Probably because there are no more tourists on the beaches, but there were literally thousands of shells on the beach yesterday. I was having some fun playing :)
playing with composition...altough I didn't actually do much to this composition, but I did move the shell a wee bit

Not a critique thread but I like the diagonal comp in the first shot but that 2nd photo is the winner here for me. You just missed the dof with that first shell in that 2nd shot but your feet have taken a lovely shot!! ;)
Shot 3 just doesn't quite have the sharpness it could.

thanks MA. I do have to agree with all of that. My feet are still learning so are making some mistakes :clown:
I think that I am hitting the reality of the limits of my camera. :) or the limits of myself. Or both.

do you think I can fix the sharpness of that first shell in shot 2 without making it look awful?

Give it a go ... there might be enough in it to be successful. But only someone critical like the people here at ph.ca would notice it. It's still a really nice shot as is!

I keep forgetting you don't have a decent DSLR yet. I keep forgetting to mention what a great job are doing with what you have! With the lessons in composition etc you've learned you're going to really shine once you buy that DSLR in the near future!
