The cloud
Marko's podcast, reminded me of this photo shoot, where I trudged for 2 hours through the snow to 'The Cloud' before the sun rose to shot some panoramas. It was freezing and I was totally not dressed for it, still it has to be one of most memorable shoots to date. I was very glad of a warm bath when I got back...

The glow of the two towns look great!
What are we looking here? We on the summit of a mountain with a memorial I think ... and what towns are those?
-
Thanks MA, 'The cloud is hill just outside the peak district national park, I'm not entirely sure what the stone monument is, my wife thinks it might be a waypoint... .... The towns are (I think) Macclesfield on the left and Congleton on the right. The 180 degree perspective is a bit disorientating.
-
Cool ... I'll have to look those towns up on Google Earth :)
-
It is called a trig point and in days gone by it was used for making maps.
-
Ok ... so the hill is actually called 'The Cloud' according to Google Earth and is quite close to Congleton.
Theres a couple of shots on google earth that show the shape of The Cloud.

I think it would be know as "Cat & Fiddle" the name of Pub near top on A54 road. Never heard it called "The Cloud" although guess that is it's name.
-
Thanks ericmark, the locals know it as 'the cloud', yer I know that pub on the A54.
