Senter Falls
So a couple friends and I decided late yesterday to head to a nearby brook to photograph the falls. Weather was to be overcast with possible snow showers and with the recent rain and melt, the water should have some drama. Luckily there were no downed trees on the 1-lane dirt road in although the road wasn't plowed all the way to the trail-head.
On the way in, the sky turned colors for about a minute and a half. We waded up a little hill in knee-deep snow for a few seconds of glory -

Then onto the falls. I have a soft spot for black and white treatments of fast moving streams with snow and these just lent themselves so perfectly -

Further downstream the shape of the water flowing over this rock caught my attention so I climbed back down the bank and set the tripod nearly to its highest stance for this one. A bit of cropping was all it took to focus on the shapes -

And just so you can get an idea of what color there is at Senter Falls, a color shot. I really liked the pop of green at the top, it seems to bring depth and richness to the browns of the rocks and trees. Also dig that little rivulet running down the rocks on the left.

After this we headed to town to a favorite diner for breakfast. It was great.
Thanks for checking it out. Comments welcome.

Thanks all. It really is a great location and one I'd like to return to since the guys I was with were all anxious for breakfast when I could have stood another 1/2 hour or so. Ah well...it isn't going anywhere.

I like the falls pictures. Felt like the water was going to pour right out of my monitor onto my desk.
