March Sunset
driving home after walking the dogs I saw that the water was so still and that there was still light in the sky. So I pulled over to take some pictures of ships. I then decided to to try a shot up the river. But I didn't have my tripod and attempts to handhold were dismal and the ground resulted in a poor picture. Looking around I spied an old weathered board of about 2 feet in height. I used it to improvise a tripod (I felt quite clever about this :D).
anyway, long story but here's the shot:

and these are the boats that caught my eye:

I have more shots that require more work but now I'm off to bed!! :goodvibes

Cool shots, Bambi. Nice work with the improvisation. Another trick I use is to sit down on the ground and put your elbows on your knees. Or even just drop to one knee. It helps to get low to the ground for stability. Definitely worth the stop! :goodvibes

The first one is so peaceful!

These are both beautiful. Gale

I have to agree with what everyone's said so far. Beautiful and peaceful.

Lovely shot, good job with the improv. tripod. Love shot 1, I would be tempted to remove that floating twig in the middle third.
Shot 2 is interesting too, love the light.

thanks everyone!
Richard, I will play with removing the twig and see what I think.
