Ha ha.. the title so fits it! Too cool.

I'm obviously not very bright... I don't get the title at all.

I do like the photo! First time I've seen the selective colouring thing done throughout the photo instead of on just one spot. I like it! :clap::thumbup:

I was the same with the title but just assumed I was out of the "Willy Wonka" loop :laughing: I'm guessing the title is somewhat esoteric based on how media savvy you are ? The image won out in the end :thumbup:

Ok, the title..... I was thinking about COLOR, something Willy Wonka's factory has a lot of. But, this picture has the color sort of, in a wonky kind of way. Not enough for me to call it Willy Wonka's forest, so I called it Wonka's Willy. ?????? The best I could come up with really. Not exactly top notch in the creative dept over here.

Anyways, I missed a couple of plants. It was a pain in the lower altitudes. A lot of the history brush. About the only way I know how to do selective coloring for something like this.

I just thought it would be cool to see the whole colony in color instead of picking out just one plant. The picture is a study of the colony and not an individual plant, so it wouldnt make sense to just pick one guy out. I think it came out ok.

Here I was expecting to see an old broken down Willys Overland. Guess I'm really warped.

I like what you did. Didn't get the title but that's okay. I think that you missed a couple though.

Not sure what you anted to do better with your photoshopping there JJ. Apart from missing a couple of plants in the center this look really good.

MA, it was just a lot of the history brush. I am not very skilled with photoshop and know there is a better way to do this. I NEVER use layers and almost exclusively use the clone(healing), history brush, dodge and burn, and that is about the extent of it. It took almost an hour to do this.

These are the steps I used..

Adjust levels/saturation
Set history point to adjusted levels
Desaturate
History brush
Move history point up to when I desaturated the image
Use history brush again to clean up image

No layers involved. Most of you use them, but I for some reason cannot get a grip on these things so this is my method for selective coloring. Ugh. At least I get to listen to music for a while! :thumbup:
