    goes spelunking on the forest floor. Look out for snakes little dude!



    These guys were everywhere the other day. Not sure if they all just gave up their gills and left the stream or if there was a big party or if it was just the heavy rain. Had to walk the trails really carefully so as not to squoosh one. Off the charts cute. And yeah, I did have to recite that whole Monty Python scene.

    Some animals use bright colours as a warning. In the animal world bright colours sometimes means poisonous.

    Just popped on for a minute and saw all the replies. Thanks guys. I think this is a temporary color for newts and they go green as adults, but I'd have to check. And yeah, I think newts are a type of salamander, with salamander being the larger category. I would call all newts salamanders, but not all salamanders newts.
