Caught this guy devouring a gopher at the Bird Sanctuary. After he was done (and that included fighting off a Magpie) he flew up onto a branch and sat there, digesting ...





And if you look closely, you can see some gopherblood on his claws ...

Actually I was there with Matt and the hawk did experience a small problem with an invasive species. One lady decided that she was special and had the right to crowd his dining area up to the point he flew up into a tree until she was gone. Some people just don't know how to respect an animals right to privacy.
