Share - the picture I hope, not the rattler.
Nice focus on the fang and rattler
Duh!!!! I originallly typed tongue and I guess I got a brain cramp and changed it to fang.
Very cool shot. I think it's cool the way you almost can't see his head as it blends in with the rest of his body.
Very cool shot Kevin. Love the point of focus right on the head.
wow, this is cool. love the comp and dof
Nice one, for sure .. hope you had a looooong lens for this shot ... or did you use your wide angle???
Nice one. Not a macro though??
Looks like it's almost ready to strike. Not sure I'd want to be this close!
Wow love to see shots i don't see in the city lol. I like the focus as well. I think a bit of extra PP play could make this sing louder tho.
Thanks for the comments. :) This is the original photo, I haven't really got into Photoshop but perhaps its time. I did shoot the photo with a 300mm lense, I was more then safe.
We are studying rattlesnake habitat and have several snakes embedded with radio transmitters. We see these snakes almost everyday and they are very shy animals. They always try to go into a burrow rather then stay above ground and be defensive. They rarely even rattle. The only reason I was even able to get the defensive pose in the photo was we just finished processing the snake (taking a blood sample, embedding a small microchip in the snake, etc.) and she was just released.
Better you than me! It's a striking picture.
