    Default Marsh Snake

I can go months, sometimes even years without seeing snakes depending on what I'm doing, but recently I'm finding snakes quite regularly.

On a walk in a forest not far from here we saw two identified snakes, one I missed standing on by about 300mm.

On a walk past a football field a few nights back a Brown Snake about .75m long (somewhere around the worlds 3rd or 4th most venomous) was being chased off the field by the footballers and I guided that little guy back into the bush.

Then, about a week ago we had a snake in the house. I've been in this country since 1981 and have never had a snake in the house before. Thankfully I recognised what it was fairly quickly, a Green Tree Snake and non venomous. He was about 1. 3m long. Took a while to get it to leave but finally I managed to actually sweep it out the doorway with a broom.

And below is a shot I got of a Marsh Snake. This time it was me in his home, in the rainforest. These are mildly venomous so do need to be treated with caution. He was about .75m long I guess.

Nice, rich and lush looking photo.

Having looked at your other posts I was envious of your forest walk. That is cured now. Nice shot though.

Don't worry ... he wasn't aggressive and not on the track itself. I had to use my monopod to get him to move
