    Default Kaua'i Birds

You can't miss the wild chickens on Kaua'i. They were apparently released by a hurricane in the early nineties and are everywhere on the island. The Hawaiians joke that if you boil one of their chickens in a pot of water with a volcanic rock, the rock will come out more edible than the chicken.

The second shot was taken at a National Tropical Botanical Garden. The bird is a sora, quite abundant on the island.

Love the colour on the Cockerels in the first, and the Sora is a perfect natural habitat capture, with a very relaxed looking specimen.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

I especially like the second one. All the leaves, but the bird doesn't get lost against them.
