Could all be the same bird for all I know. I'm really looking forward to their return this spring/summer. Very fast birds and not ones to stay still for to long...Major ADD going on with these things...

For you to post up only 1 out of 3 shots that is sharp tell me a lot about the difficulty these birds present in taking their photo!

You nailed that 2nd shot though. Nice birds too. Lance Armstrong birds ... they look like they are wearing a cycling time trail helmet.

Beautiful shots as always, Michaelaw! I have never seen these in Calgary until last fall when I walked into a flock of them - quite literally. They were up in Mount Royal and something had been strewn across the sidewalk and road and the whole flock had stopped for a snack. When I came along, they dispersed fairly quickly but they were an amazing sight.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
