Default Even our native kookaburras like beer

On the weekend I was on my back verandah, bottling my latest home brew when I had a visit from a kookaburra. The kookaburra is a member of the kingfisher family and is known for its distinctive "laugh". In my experience it is unusual for them to get too close to people, but this one hovered around where I was working. He hung around for probably 20 minutes, changing his location a number of times, but was almost within touching distance most of the time. I kept doing what I was doing and it just sat there watching me.
