    Default Cormorant Tree

On my way back home I looked up and found this tree full of Cormorants. I don't know how they manage to sit so nicely on the thin branches seeing as they have webbed feet and all, but it was pretty nifty...especially when the big steel birds where flying overhead to their roost at the Calgary Airport.
At the weir, the Pelicans kept chasing them away and when they dived and resurfaced, the Pelicans thought it might be a fish and tried to go for it! Amazing there were no serious injuries!

Funny moment, it's right on the bike path, and some poor unsuspecting jogger just missed by a nanosecond getting splattered by copious amounts of cormorant guano from overhead...freaked the daylights out of him to hear a massive splatter from out of nowhere!
