I wanted to practice taking action shots. with the help of my daughter, some balls and the neighbour's Scottie and a fun time was had by all

this was blurry but I liked the timing of it:

this was better. definitely shows the focus:

love the expression on everyone's face here:

but the dogs are a great learning tool. I also enjoy them

Very good shots! Good timing. I know how hard it is to get these sharp!

Cool stuff, Bambi. Those action shots are quite a challenge but you pulled off some nice ones here!

Those are great Bambi!...Made me chuckle Despite the technical challenges, you've managed to capture the spirit of the moment very well in my book

Job well done Bambi. You definitely caught the intensity and energy that they bring to the game.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Nicely done Bambi. The pros spend $$$$1000's on fast sports glass, to get their results.

I love the action that you have captured here, shot one is suffering a little from camera shake? but I can see why you wanted to include it. Shots 2 &3 look very good. Where you manual or auto focusing?

thanks all for your kind comments.

It was fun to do. I put the shutter release on multiple and just started shooting as they ran towards me. I used auto focus because I'm still figuring out Manual. It's really not bad for a kit lens is it?

I think its more about the photographer than the equipment, a good photographer can take a great image with a bad camera, a bad photographer seldom takes a great image on a good camera.

The kit lens has got you some great results here Bambi.

I'm soooooo slow using manual focus and need loads more practice, mostly I reserve it's use for still subjects, or low light situations.

Auto focus is the only way for that sort of shooting ... at least for me!
And the difference between the kit lens and the pro gear is way larger in price than it is in performance!
