He was quite the poser...

Common Golden-Eye and her lone chick...I imagine the others became dinner...she was quite nervous of my presence so I left her be. She kept calling for her baby to stay hidden in the cat tails when I got too close. That little chick was pretty cute though.



Oh one more I didn't get a shot of I had what I think was a fledging olive coloured fly catcher of some kind at Fort Calgary. I was getting ready to leave and hopped on my bike, started peddling and from out of nowhere the little bugger flew into my bike spokes while it was moving! Poor thing I stopped immediately and I thought for a second I really hurt it. It sat on the wire right by my bike for a few minutes and I watched it until it then flew off. It was a pretty crappy flier who flew much like a fledging. So I checked to make sure it was okay and then peddled off. I hope it was okay.
