Tricycle - Light Painting

This is a discussion on Tricycle - Light Painting within the Architecture & Man Made (cities, buildings, roads, objects & abstracts) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; I did this last night. I am doing an assignment on 'light' for one of my graduate classes....

I just wanted to add that this is a raw image with no post processing. During RAW conversion to JPG all I did was raise the saturation and contrast just a little.

I like this effect MF. You might try combining this light with one of those 1 dollar lasers for some fine outlining - works great.

I really have tried using those lasers, they really are not that great. I think the best way to make the tricycle pop would be to get a LED flashlight and a snoot. I was trying to do it with only the candle lights and my light source.

I might end up doing an entire series for this type of long exposure.

I think you should try an entire series. Painting with light is great fun. I 100% disagree with your laser comment though... When I did a podcast last year on this topic & re-experimented with different flashlight sources, I found the laser to be the most accurate and easiest light source to control.
Depends on what you're trying to achieve I guess.

    Thx - Marko

It is usually way too overpowering and creates a hard line. when the red laser hits the metal of the tricycle it bounces in every direction. I agree that it is much easier to control but to create the effect with a laser, the laser would overpower the light I think. I'll post the light bulb that I lit with the laser.
