Default Centre Street Bridge At Dusk

The city changed the colour of the lights on the bridge, so no more hideous orange glow. I just want to add a comment about the Bow and Elbow rivers which flooded this spring. Besides the big clumps of washed up dead trees and piles of silt and buildings that are now abandoned or torn down, the rivers have changed their appearance in a major way. I was on a walk-about with my camera along the Elbow river yesterday and I saw sandbars that were not there before. People are starting to go back to rafting and the Elbow had a popular swimming hole near downtown that people were using again. But I talked to others and heard stories such as seeing people just standing at the shore and staring at the river. Perhaps in disbelief at its violent nature, I don't know. At the club we have hanging in a hallway an old photo from 1915 of the washed out Center street bridge. (Here is the photo that we have The Glenbow Museum > Archives Photographs Search Results) Were they more cognizant of the rivers violent nature, I wonder? I love that photo as all the gentlemen and some ladies were wearing hats. Here is a link of the Centre Street bridge from the last time I photographed it.

Like the others I really like the tones here JAs, and the sharp detail.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
