    Default HMCS Haida

I visited family in Mississauga last weekend and on Sunday we went to see the HMCS Haida in Hamilton Ontario. We explored all areas that are open to the public - which is most of the ship I think. If you go keep in mind that there's lots of ladder climbing and passing through smallish openings. Overall it was well worth the visit. It's not every day you get to explore a retired battleship - the last of its kind.

Very interesting to see, and def #2 for me. Really like the more personal feeling from this one??
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Cool set Doug. I really like the interior shots. The Haida has been on my bucket list of places to explore but haven't been there yet. Thanks for giving me an excellent preview.

Thanks - just go! Terrific experience, exploring a vessel like that. Admission is about $4 per adult. Maybe do not go on a really hot & muggy day though as the ship will be pretty uncomfortable inside (especially on the lower decks).

I will take this opportunity to correct my terribly grave error - as was pointed out to me by a knowledgeable friend the HMCS Haida is in fact a destroyer, not a battleship.

In the same vein, if you haven't been to the Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton yet, put it at the top of your list. See my gallery of warplane museum pics here.

Looks pretty well preserved, which is a tough job with these museum ships. Great photos, especially given tight quarters and lousy light.
