Canadian Parliament

This is a discussion on Canadian Parliament within the Architecture & Man Made (cities, buildings, roads, objects & abstracts) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; I know there are a lot of Canadians here, so I thought I'd share a shot from my first-ever visit ...

    Default Canadian Parliament

I know there are a lot of Canadians here, so I thought I'd share a shot from my first-ever visit to Ottawa last week. Pretty town. The Parliament Hill buildings reminded me of Harry Potter, so I tried to emphasize that feeling. I didn't have a lot of time to compose, so I'm reasonably happy with the result. Handheld, f/8 at 17mm for 1/250s, ISO 200.

I like the B&W! Definately brings a great mood to the photo. The green adds a nice touch..blends with the rest nicely!

    Have yet to go there.

I love your shot. Really nice, especially the b/w and green tops and of course the wonderful framing.

I took one from the Quebec side, from the Museum of Civilization which also shows the Library of Parliament, that roundish building behind the main one.

Funny how someone who saw my shot also commented on how it had a Harry Potter feel. Maybe, parliament really is Hogwarts, which would make Stephen Harper... Dumbledore???

    Here's mine:

Thanks, J. I also got one from the Quebec side, though I like yours better--great contrast, sharpness, moody sky.

I'll be driving through Ottawa on Sunday. I'll have to see if I can match these wonderful shots!
