Sorry they are dark. I really couldn't believe how fast the sun is down after my hubby comes home from work. Guess most shots will wait till the weekend now!!!

Either way..I've been slacking and needed to do something.

And this is for the rest of the vehicles. The pink hue is from a light above me but thought it made it kind of neat looking. Either way..soon enough you'll get some of the road itself and fishing huts. Till then..

Nice, I love the North in the Winter. The lakes were just freezing when I was in Northern Ontario last week. I didn't think I would like ice fishing until I tried it, quiet relaxing and enjoyable. I even prefer when I can get a hut and no one else is around the solitude is just fabulous and it is the only fishing I ever do.

What is this? An 'Ice Road?' Does this mean it was water until it froze over thick enough to now be a road to cross the water?

I've heard of these if I'm on the right track. Billy Connolly talked about one in northern Canada that trucks use. How they mark the road though?

Yes. Where my summer dock photos are is where our ice road begins. It's something like 12 km long up the lake to get to the town of Red Lake. The road is mark by little trees but you can see it as the plows go over it when it snows.

Just a quicker way to get to town for everyone on this side. Also those that live on the island can now drive over instead of the ferry or their own boats.
