Lunenburg Academy was a public school for many years. it sits at the top of the hill and has a view to die for. Built in 1895 it still serves as a school (I believe) for grades Primary through 6.
and across the street is the graveyard. Yes I appreciate the irony(as a brief aside there is another school in the county that was next to the county jail for many years. the jail is now closed but the school is still open
)

. But the graveyard is a fantastic photo too!

Before the school was built on that location the area was called Gallows Hill, because that is where the bad guys ended there days. It was there mainly because the cemetery is close by. Literally a view to die for.
