Yeh ... the yellow line IS there for a reason. I don't reccommend the wearing of headphones around large metals objects that can kill you.

BUT ... it's not like a lot of people think. They jump to conclusions so easily when they see a cyclist.
I really do use my ipod while riding sometimes (not often though) but I play the music so quiet that I can only hear it while climbing. When descending or even on flats at over about 25 kph (which is 90% of the time) I can't hear it for the wind noise.
The ear phones actually help reduce the wind noise allowing me to hear the traffic better. The opposite to what most ignorant motorists think. But then what can you expect from people making conclusions and judgments on things they've never tried?
