    Default THe Arrata Opera Center

Formerly Wesley United Church, it is now a working opera center for the Calgary Opera with offices, wardrobe and rehearsal hall all located in this old historical church.

I like the sense of age from the building contrasted with those splashy banners. Looks really balanced and the light is perfect.

Thanks Bambi and Wicked. I walk by here every day and have never really taken a full on photo of it I liked before. Lots of fragments though. It has that circular lead glass window and the dentil under the roof overhang is all peely so that's kind of interesting photographically too. It is also on the "Gay stroll" although not so much anymore. I used to encounter the gay prostitutes on that corner most nights.

It's a beautiful shot of a beautiful building. I walk by there often too. (I should add I'm not a gay prostitute. LOL) I like your processing, with darker tones on the brick and the street. There's a sandstone church near there too that would be interesting to shoot sometime.
