well not in the middle of no where but it might as well have been! This morning I drove Ed to the airport. On the drive I noted that there was steam coming from our car (2002 ford focus wagon, 287,000km). 'no' says husband 'it's the cold rain on the warm engine'.

I drop him off and then go to the city to do some errands (pick up a new lens ) and visit my mother. I just got on the highway to come home and the warning light for coolant comes on and I have to pull over. This is the photo I took waiting for CAA (Can Auto Assoc) to come to my rescue:

My hero 'Geoff' located the problem (leak in the hose), refilled my radiotor with ditchwater and then followed me so that I could get to my mechanic (100kms away). Why does this always happen when you are 1) far from home and 2) husband is away?
