    Default The Nanny

A mother house spider guards her yet to be and newly hatched spiderlings. Instead of getting wicked close, I decided to show the whole little vignette. I just loved the cloud of babies and momma's leg position. Luckily she held her pose for me a while. I futzed around a bit with composition and decided the empty space beneath her and the egg sac was important; they're hanging from a window frame. The whole scene is about 1 1/2 inches in total length in reality. Anyway, I like it.

There isn't a whole lot of color in this scene, so I converted it and I like it. Almost never see B&W macros. Shot w/the legacy OM 90mm macro and a 25mm extension tube, which I didn't really need, but had on the lens when I found these little ones.

I think this is so perfect it is painful to look at. Is there a chance that we could get the moderators to put a big spider warning on posts like this. I just called my wife over to show her this and she is still screaming.
