Had a spare half hour this morning so I had a quick stab at shooting my Christmas present. It's sort of fun but I'll get very bored with it in no time and the cats loath it

I played with my dad's RC helicopter over my Christmas vacation. A week later and it is still amusing, may just have to buy one. The blue in the photo works out pretty good. Interesting photo.

I like your toning, is it selenium or cynaotype? I always had you pegged as a "black opps" type of guy, and now you show up here with a freaking drone. Is it powerful enough to lift a D700?

That IS the question .. would make for some interesting areal photography ...

Don't know about a D700, but it would be cool to attach a GoPro to it.

It lifted a full can of beer briefly. It comes with two 720p cameras built in, one looks ahead while the other looks straight down. It's flown using a control app downloadable from Apple or the Adroid folks. I loath it for the fact that it takes two hours to charge for a ten minute flight time. The image I took of it was really easy as once you assign it a level, take your hands off the controls, it remains more or less parked where you left it. Just grab a wide lens, throw a flash off the ceiling and...Zam! I tried a few shutter speed combos but never got a decent blur from the props
