Lovely tones here for sure - especially in the flowers themselves.
For me, the fence space that occupies the left of the image, doesn't add much to the image - also there's a brightness distraction in horizontal piece of wood.
I'd crop about 3 inches into the photo from the left side. Juuust after the brightish knot in the 2nd vertical slat or post - I forget the right word.
That'd be my take - hope it may help
    cheers!

Cheers Marko, very much appreciate your response and insight.

Definitely agree with the "bright spots". But, I will dig my heels in on the fence space to left - as it was my intention to use the space to give a greater sense of the location and to emphasize how the rose is starting to lean/grow in that direction ( the contrast between straight/linear fence boards and a curving/arcing plant).

Sall good, but I'm diggin' in too. I might agree with you if the area had any visual interest at all...i don't see any though...it's just empty 'space'.
Try my crop (or let me post a 30 second edit) to just after the dark central knot.
It still has the intended effect imo ... and you still have almost 2 inches of breathing room from the flower's edge to the image's edge, to show the flower's growing direction.
again JMO. You da real boss!!

sure feel free to do the 30 second thing. That will no doubt give me a much greater idea of the impact than the mental image I currently have. Cheers
