Default Olympus 40mm-150mm f4.0-5.6 ED Lens

    Guys,

I need some input, i have a 14mm - 42mm kit lens, and i was looking for another lens that has a higher range zoom. I came across this:

    Olympus 40mm-150mm f4.0-5.6 ED Lens

Now, i'm not sure, but Futureshop are actually selling this for $99. Other stores i've been checking out are easily in the hundreds.

    http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

    and BestBuy for example:

    http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...29&catid=26562

Is there a difference between the 2 lenses? Because i can't seem to find any difference, or am i missing something? Because for $99 it seems to be a complete steal!

It's the exact same photograph in both ads; I'd say it's the same lens. I can't see why FS would have it for 1/3 the price of their competitor, but for that price, it's well worth grabbing even if it's only a mediocre lens (Note: I have no idea about the quality).

Well, i went to BestBuy and spoke to one of the sales ppl, and they were kind enough to match the price and take an extra $20 off, so i ended up getting the lens for $79.99 which i thought was a bargain.

Going to try the lens out today so will see what the quality is like

Zuiko lenses are very good quality.
That one is a standard, not high end, but is till ok.
I took some pictures with that lens in dark, George Michael concert, ISO 400, f22, s 1/30 or 1/60 , I can't remember right now, but I was quite happy with the details.

And this is the link with pictures, from that concert http://concert-gm.blogspot.com/

There is an excellent review of that lens in September PopPhoto. Test results were excellent in image quality through all focal lengths.
