Very inexpensive lens, less than $200. If you don't know, Rokinon lenses are manual focus only lenses. This is a fixed 500mm lens, something like f/6 to f/22

I just sold a book from my LSU collection for $350, so it's burning a hole in my pocket (actually I sold it to get a lens). I was looking at the Rokinon 800mm fixed lens or the 500mm fixed lens. No one has any knowledge of these lenses or company?

Jared Polin of FroKnowsPhoto.com has been flogging them quite a bit. I think as long as you are OK with the fact they will be manual focus he likes them. You might want to bop on over to his site and see if he has any reviews in which you might be interested.

Yeah, that's where I heard about them but he gets paid to talk them up, so he will not have anything bad to say about them. I can't just drop another $$$$ on a lens after I bought that 70-200.

this is what I am thinking about:

    Rokinon.com | Rokinon 800mm f/8.0 Mirror Lens - 800M

I want it for its small length to get into venues (LSU sports) and soccer pics of the girls. I cannot find anything good or bad on them.
