Default I maybe pulling trigger on Canon 7D Mark II shortly

If you don't remember, last year I shot my daughters' dance recital. While I was there, I shot anyone that I could and gave away the images on the dance school's webpage. They were nice images, but because of this light and my 60D ISO, they needed help.

A lot of the parents (and the owner of the school) told me I should sell the images. I didn't feel the ones I took last year were good enough to sell.

I am thinking of buying the 7D Mark II, with a much better ISO and FPS. All I would need is to sell 170 images at $10 each to pay for it.

Maybe I can sweeten the deal and say $50 for digital image and portrait session at later date.

I will just need to buy the camera before hand.

I've had mine for two months now. Enjoying using it for the smooth auto focus and accurate auto exposure. You will love it, AT for dance recitals and soccer. Kind of complicated camera, but the high speed continuous drive is a wonder. Pretty good price up here in Canada, cheaper I believe than in the US given that our dollar is so devalued now.

You don't need to justify it to us, we understand.

...............However, in the future may use your rationale myself when I am trying to convince myself (or more likely others) it is time for an update?

From seeing you evolve from a good photographer to a very experienced, great photographer, and for the majority of subjects that you shoot AT, I would suggest that you purchase a FF body ,if you find what you are using now as lacking. The 5D MkIII can be had used, at a great bargain, and will do everything a 7D MkII will do, and MORE. You cannot beat the dof on FF vs crop, and the high ISO abilities of a 5DMkIII are amazing. I am speaking from lots of experience with crop vs FF on Canon bodies. Just my 2 cents, but myself, I could NEVER see myself shooting crop factor again. The only downfall may be your lens collection if you have an abundance of EF-S lenses. If not, FF all the way.

Well, I am taking your advice, i have my finger on the trigger of a 5D Mkiii, just cannot seem to pull it. I have already sold my camera (60D and three lenses), plus I made nearly $1000 on Ebay this weekend (from garage sales). I was planning on getting the 7D Mkii and have enough money for it. I just know as soon as I buy the 7D, i will have buyer's remorse in not getting the 5D.

I do have two full frame lenses and one more lens to sell because it is for crop frame.

I sold my 60D with the lens that came with it (18-135), a cheap plastic Canon 50mm 1.8, and a Canon 28mm 2.8 for $700 (to a friend). They got a great deal, but I only paid $25 for the 28mm at a garage sale.

I feel torn but I can basically get a 5D Mkiii with the money from my equipment, garage sale money, plus $600 out of my pocket.

Just to confuse matters further....There are rumours of a 5D mkIV coming out later this year, which may mean a drop in price on the MkIII??

Good for you. We will all end up in a box someday... so occasional self-spoilage within reason isn't a horrible thing at all.

Well, I fond out this morning that none of my lenses are full frame lenses except my 70-200. I have bit off more than I can chew with this camera. Now I need to buy me a low range FL lens.

I may just go with the Tamron 18-300.

    I don't know
