    It's not a point and shot, it's a DSLR
It's a micro-four thirds system, with interchangeable lens.

I think the Olympus is a visionary, they are the future. Why? When they will make the sensor to be as good as Nikon and Canon on high ISO, then you will see no point to carry a huge camera body. They think in future They are the first on many things (IS - image stabilization, dust removal system, 100% digital lens)
IMO soon we will look at this huge camera bodies, like at an old system.

Sorry, Lovin. Although it is a very nice camera indeed, it is most certainly not a DSLR. Olympus and Panasonic both make use of the 4/3’s sensor in their DSLRs, but the Micro 4/3 system eliminates the mirror and optical viewfinder therefore it can not be truly referred to as a DSLR.

Rather than show any disrespect to the camera by calling it a “point and shoot” I’d think that “Ultra High-End Compact Digital” is a very apt description.

No need to apologize. I felt a need to post the same comments on PopPhoto’s website when they made the mistake of calling the newest Micro Four Thirds offering from Panasonic a DSLR, and they were kind enough to make the correction in their article on the camera.

It is a major new innovation that will appeal to a certain sector and of that there can be no doubt. I’d like to try one.
