oooh ... you should check some of JAS' shots of Daffodils in her Flickr album ... inspiring! Actually they are here at ph.ca too somewhere.

This is a nice effort ... looks a little over exposed in the bright areas. Kinda looks like too many light light sources. Maybe try again with a single source shot from the side.

Hi MA. I'll have a look for those I couldn't resist the shot. We had a few in the house and I just had to get the camera on them while they were in their prime. I'll play around with them as I took quite a few pics. I had two candles left and right off frame which really emphasised the golden colour in the daffs but I didn't want them in the scene.

Thank MA. Just had a look at some of her shots. They're really good The detail and composition of some of them are very nice and I like the beads of water/raindrops one one or two I saw.

This was my first attempt at flowers but I'm looking forward to around a month's time when more start to bloom. I'll try it with one candle tomorrow night.

    Regards,
    NS,

I like the play here but even though it's candlelight, it's harsh on these flowers due to position and it's giving them somewhat a 'ghastly' mood. I'd love to see these lit really softly, JMO.
    Good play as always!

We have a few flower experts around here ... JAS excels in this type of shot ... MoinMoin is the Rose queen ... Michaelaw is showing better than average lighting also ... and few other others are doing some nice stuff with wild flowers etc. Iguasuan ... well ... he just likes things ladies do I think

I really should read the site after 2 hard hours of training at the dojo. I can't quite tell if I'm being insulted here or not so either thanks or whichever is appropriate.

Artificial lighting is very hard to do well so keep trying. I would take the vase outside early one sunny morning or near sunset.

You'd not only take it out ... you'd buy it dinner and expect too much!
